About this course

Please enjoy a recording of this event hosted by Accanto Health and presented by Stacy Schilter Pisano, LMFT, CEDS-S and Shena Washburn, RDN, CD, CEDRD. When it comes to food, we are confident in our approach…but what about physical activity? As we focus our attention on eating disorder symptom reduction, we often prioritize reducing or abstaining from physical activity that results in acute medical concerns. However, there are many physical and mental health benefits associated with movement, including correlations with increased body appreciation and attunement. So where do we begin? In this training, we will identify motivators and obstacles to engagement in physical activity, review evidence-based literature to assess for problematic patterns, and collaboratively identify interventions that support ALL our clients to develop an attuned relationship with movement and their bodies.   • Stacy Schilter Pisano LMFT, CEDS-S

    Stacy Schilter Pisano is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Washington state and a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. For nearly two decades, Stacy has helped individuals and families affected by body dissatisfaction, disordered eating, and clinical eating disorders. Since 2014, Stacy has been the director of The Emily Program’s South Sound location in Olympia, Washington. Within this role, she oversees a multidisciplinary team of providers offering PHP, IOP, OP, and FBT services. Stacy also collaboratively developed and supervises Accanto’s CARE IOP, a specialty program designed to support people overcoming Binge Eating Disorder and available virtually in Minnesota, Washington, and Ohio.

  • Shena Washburn, RDN, CD, CEDRD

    Shena Washburn is the Senior Director of Clinical Nutrition and Culinary Services at Accanto Health. She has 15 years of experience in the field of nutrition, mental health and eating disorders and is recognized by the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP) as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Consultant (CEDS-C). Shena is passionate about supporting individuals in their eating disorder recovery to find a balanced and sustainable relationship with food, movement, and their body, and building strong collaborative multi-disciplinary teams.
